The British Queen is 80 - and there are no signs of her abdicating - but then, why would she bother? I mean, it's not like she's got a real job, is it, meeting people, going on 'state trips' (holidays) appearing on TV once a year, it's kind of a dream job.
The problem is, the example that she is setting and the fact that people in power will use the example she is setting to demonstrate to everyone else that they really can work forever.
I'm not against the Queen - I like the Royals in general - but I think it is time she recognized that all this staying in 'power' is going to cause the rest of the nation pain, it's time she retired and gave Prince Charles a crack of the whip.
Perhaps she is planning to retire already, she has got a pretty central London pad sorted.
